How to enjoy the Grand Canyon the leisurely way.

Tim and I are not hikers, but we enjoy getting out in nature. The Grand Canyon is a great place to enjoy the wonders of nature for any level of fitness. We spent four nights camping at Trailer Village right inside the park. This is a clean campground with level sites and full hook ups. Sites are pretty close together, so there is not a lot of privacy. When we were there, the most frequent visitors to our site were several cow elk with their calves. They were not shy and would hang out right next to your trailer

One of the best things about camping here is access to the park. The park shuttle makes regular stops at the campground entrance. It was an easy walk from our campsite to the shuttle stop. Each day we would take the shuttle to a different area. You don’t have to be an avid hiker to enjoy the Grand Canyon. Most of the rim trail is flat and paved. We were able to walk a different section of the trail each day. We visited all of the visitor centers and learned about the history of the canyon. When we visited most of the restaurants were still closed due to Covid, so it was nice to have our trailer where we could prepare our own meals.
